Regular meetings are held on the second and fourth Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. Public hearings are held at 7:00 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month. Deviations from this schedule will be announced. Because of the present state of emergency, and until further notice, members of the public are urged not to attend Board of Supervisor meetings in person. All are encouraged to view and participate in meetings through electronic means. Meetings may be viewed live on RVTV, Channel 3, or on the County’s website https://roanokecountyva.gov(and accessed by clicking on the “Watch Board Meetings Online” button). Prior to and during meetings, citizens may share comments by email (to djacks@roanokecountyva.gov) or by phone (540-776- 7278). When submitting comments, please include your name and address. Comments submitted by email and by phone will be read aloud during meetings, subject to reasonable time limitations. For those individuals who desire to attend meetings in person, please be advised that seating modifications and limits have been established in order to facilitate social distancing; attendees who are not of the same household must sit six feet apart; and attendance at meetings will be limited to 25 individuals. Radford K.WORK SESSIONS 1.Work session to review with the Board of Supervisors fiscal year 2020-2021 first quarter financial information (Steve Elliott, Budget Manager and Meredith Thompson, Budget Division Director) 2.Work session to review with the Board of Supervisors the budgets for the allocations of CARES Act funding (Laurie Gearheart, Director of Finance and Management Services) L.CLOSED MEETING,pursuant to the Code of Virginia as follows: 1.Section 2.2-3711(A) (7) of the Code of Virginia, in order to consult with legal counsel and receive briefings from staff members pertaining to possible litigation, where such consultation or briefing in an open meeting would adversely affect the negotiating or litigating posture of the public body. Specifically the Board will consider participation in class action litigation or settlement with manufacturers of polychlorinated biphenyls. 2.Section 2.2-3711(A) (7) and A (29) of the Code of Virginia in order to consult with legal counsel and receive briefings from staff members pertaining to 1) possible litigation, where such consultation or briefing in open meeting would adversely affect the negotiating or litigating posture of the public body, and 2) the award of a new public contract for goods or services, and discussion of the terms or scope of such contract, where discussion in open session would adversely affect the bargaining position or negotiating strategy of the public body. Specifically, the Board will discuss litigation options for proceeding against a vendor of goods or services for breach of contract, and the award of a new public contract for such goods or services.
