Hello. I am writing in regards to this agenda item: Resolution Directing the Roanoke County
Planning Commission to Study and Provide Recommendation Regarding Whether to Amend
the Provisions of the Roanoke County Zoning Ordinance to Restrict the Operation of Abortion
Clinics
Within the County's Various Zoning Districts.
As a Roanoke County resident, I ask that you vote NO on this recommendation. Reproductive
healthcare is healthcare, and Roanoke County should support women by ensuring they have
access to essential reproductive services rather than putting their health and safety at risk by
restricting that access.
Abortion is legal in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and Roanoke County should uphold and
follow state law. Blocking or limiting access through rezoning would only endanger residents
and create unnecessary barriers to care.
I urge you to reject this proposal and stand for the health, safety, and rights of the women in
our community.
