At eac h Board of Supervisor s m eeting time has been set aside for Roanoke
County citizens to address th e Board on m atters of interest or concern. Roanoke
County citizens are defined as current legal res idents of Roanoke County .
This agenda it e m is limited to a d u ration of 30 minutes with speakers called in
the order they signed up . (Note: Sp eakers may sign up with the Clerk to the
Board prior to th e me eti ng , so th e order in which speakers are called may not
represent the order of arrival of the speakers. The Chair may also make other
allowances in the order speakers are called at his/her discretion) Each
individual speaker shall be afforded 3 minutes to speak.
By submitting a request to speak under CITIZEN COMMENTS I certify that I
am a current legal resident of Roanoke County. (Such as a Roanoke County
address on my driver's license, etc.)
WHEN CALLED TO THE LECTERN, I WILL PROVIDE MY NAME FOR THE
RECORD. I MAY CHOOSE TO, BUT AM NOT REQUIRED TO, PUBLICLY STATE
MY ADDRESS. I WILL PROVIDE MY FULL LEGAL ADDRESS BELOW .
I AGREE TO ABIDE BY THE GUIDELINES LISTED BELOW :
• Each speaker wi ll be given three (3) minutes to comment, whether
speaking as an individual or representative . Individuals may not yield
time to another speaker. The Chair will enforce the rules unless
instructed by the majority of the Board to do otherwise .
• The speaker will b e limited to a presentation of his/her point of view
only. Neither the Board of Supervisors nor County Staff will address
questions raised during citizen comment. The speaker may request

• All comments must be directed to th e Bo a rd . Debate b et w ee n a
recognized speaker and audience m e mb e rs is not allowed.
• Both speak e rs and the audienc e w ill exe rcis e court e sy at all tim e s .
• Speakers are request e d to submit w ritte n stat e m e nts and /or c o mm e nt s
to the Clerk to the Board .
• It is at the discretion of the Chair to allo w a n indiv idual to sp e ak on b e half
of an organized group . Written authori zation from the group allo w ing t he
individual to represent them shall b e fil e d w ith the Cle rk.
PLEASE NOTE: All electronic submissions to speak at a Board meeting must be
received by the Clerk's Office no later than 1 :00 p.m. on the date of the meeting.
Written requests may be submitted in person at the meeting following this time .
