leaf pick-up. Mr. John Hubbard reported that the schedule has

been revised since the leaf burning ordinance was adopted. Leaf
pick-up is provided in the same areas that were provided last
year and anyone who calls in for leaf collection. He also
reported that additional people and machinery are needed since
three leaf vacuums were destroyed in the flood.
Mr. Hodge reported that procedures have not been
started to purchase more machinery since Roanoke County should
not expend funds that cannot be federally reimbursed. He has
spoken with representatives of the Federal Emergency Management
Agency who reported that funding would not be allowed for any
machinery that can be repaired, only for replacement machinery.
Supervisor Brittle directed Mr. Hodge to prepare a
press release explaining the delay in leaf pick-up. Supervisor
I
Burton requested that this press release include the reason of
reduced income.
Supervisor McGraw - Supervisor McGraw reported that he
and Mr. Hubbard have been working with Roanoke City on placement
of signs. The City has agreed to allow the placement of Roanoke
