ON NOVEMBER 4, 1996
RESOLOTION 110496-1 CERTIFYING E%ECIITIVE MEETING AAS
HELD IN CONFORMITY WITH THE CODE OF VIRGINIA
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of Roanoke County,
Virginia has convened an executive meeting on this date pursuant to
an affirmative recorded vote and in accordance with the provisions
of The Virginia Freedom of Information Act; and
WHEREAS, Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia
requires a certification by the Board of Supervisors of Roanoke
County, Virginia, that such executive meeting was conducted in
conformity with Virginia law.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of
Supervisors of Roanoke County, Virginia, hereby certifies that, to
the best of each members knowledge:
1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from
open meeting requirements by Virginia law were discussed in the
executive meeting which this certification resolution applies, and
2. Only such public business matters as were identified
in the motion convening the executive meeting were heard, discussed
or considered by the Board of Supervisors of Roanoke County,
Virginia.
On motion of Supervisor Johnson to adopt the Certification
Resolution, and carried by the following recorded vote:
AYES: Supervisors Minnix, Harrison, Nickens, Johnson
NAYS: None

Mary Parker called and said that it has been a very busy week but she will be faxing
you agenda later today.
Also, she said that there was an item regarding update on Metropolitan Transp.
District Study Committee. Mayor Bowers wants to invite the City's representatives
to come and asks if the County wants to invite theirs.
Can you let her know if they are coming so she can include them for the count, and
also let her know who they are.

METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION DISTRICT
STUDY COMMITTEE
On July 9, 1996, at a joint meeting of the Roanoke County Board of Supervisors, and
Roanoke City Council, it was agreed to create a joint Metropolitan Transportation
District Study Committee. The purpose is to promote the creation of a transportation
district and to educate the citizens on the critical need for transportation funding.
The Committee will be composed of three citizens from Roanoke County and three
from Roanoke City, and a seventh at-large member may be appointed.
