The purpose of this meeting is to receive funding requests from health and human services agencies. Regular meetings are held on the second and fourth Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. Public hearings are held at 7:00 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month. Deviations from this schedule will be announced. The meetings are broadcast live on RVTV, Channel 3, and tonight's meeting will be rebroadcast on Friday at 7:00 p.m. and on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. Board of Supervisors meetings can also be viewed online through Roanoke County's website at www.RoanokeCountyVA.gov. Our meetings are now closed - captioned, so it is important for everyone to speak directly into the microphones at the podium. Individuals who require assistance or special arrangements to participate in or attend Board of Supervisors meetings should contact the Clerk to the Board at (540) 772 -2005 at least 48 hours in advance. Clayton Goodman I I I County Administrator Kfl, COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR'S COMMENTS: SUMMARY of INFORMATION: This time has been set aside for presentations to allow health and human service agencies the opportunity to orally submit funding requests to the Board of Supervisors for inclusion in the fiscal year 2012 --2013 budget. At the March 13, 2012, Board of Supervisors meeting, presentations from cultural, tourism and other organizations requesting contributions from the County for inclusion in the fiscal year 2012 -2013 budget were heard. Organizations that submitted funding requests for fiscal year 2012 -2013 were instructed to submit an Appearance Request Form to the Clerk to the Board of Supervisors if they wanted to make an oral presentation to the Board on March 20, 2012, regarding their funding requests. The written requests and accompanying literature submitted by each organization are available in the Clerk's office for your review prior to the presentations. Attached is a summary that lists each agency's budget history and requested funding amount. At the meeting, Budget staff will provide a list of speakers as well as individualized scoring sheets. Based on input received from the Board, the County Administrator will make recommendations for funding and present them as part of the fiscal year 2012 -2013 proposed budget that is planned for April. Failure to fully fund this request could result in additional funding cuts from the Commonwealth. Although not funding the full local match could result in state cuts, this has never been enforced in past years when local funding fell short of the required match.
