OPENING CEREMONIES 1 . Roll Call Present: Supervisors Radford, Hooker, Mahoney, North Absent: None 2. Organization of County Board 1. Election of Officers: Action No. 010924-1 1. Chairman Supervisor Radford nominated Supervisor North to serve as Chairman for the calendar year 2024. Supervisor Hooker seconded the motion. Motion Approved. Ayes: Supervisors Mahoney, Hooker, Radford, North Nays: None Action No. 01924-2 2. Vice Chairman Supervisor Mahoney nominated Supervisor Hooker to serve as Vice-Chairman for the calendar year 2024. Mr. Caywood requested to add an additional topic for discussion during closed meeting under item J, pursuant to Section 2.2-3711(A)(3) of the Code of Virgina, to discuss or consider the acquisition of real property in the Cave Spring Magisterial District for a public purchase where discussion in an open meeting would adversely affect the bargaining position or negotiating strategy of the public body. There were no objections to this addition. C. BRIEFINGS 1. Ferris (Tax Map No. 077.14-06-27.00-0000, located at 3475 Richards Blvd , 2) Richard A. Juneau (Tax Map No. 077.11-06-26.00-0000, located at 3481 Richards Blvd), and 3) Derrick S. and April H. Minnix (Tax Map No. 077.14-06- 38.00-0000, located at 3480 Pilot Blvd), for the purpose of constructing drainage improvements; Cave Spring Magisterial District (Second Reading) Supervisor Radford moved to approve the ordinance. Supervisor North moved to go to closed session. Supervisor Radford seconded the motion. Motion approved. Ayes: Supervisors Radford, Hooker, Mahoney, North Nays: None K. Certification Resolution Action No. 010924-8 In the closed session just concluded, nothing was discussed except the matter which was identified in the motion to convene in closed session. Only those matters lawfully permitted to be discussed under the Virginia Freedom of Information Act were discussed. Supervisor North moved to adopt the certification resolution. Supervisor Radford seconded the motion. Motion adopted. Ayes: Supervisors Radford, Hooker, Mahoney, North Nays: None L. ADJOURNMENT Action No: 010924-9 Rather than moving to adjourn this meeting Supervisor Radford moved that this meeting be recessed until January 11. 2024, at 4:00 p.m. Supervisor Mahoney seconded the motion.
