A regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors of Roanoke County, Virginia, held at
the Roanoke County Administration Center, on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at 4:00
PM
A. OPENING CEREMONIES
1. Roll Call
Present: Supervisors Mahoney, North, Radford, Hooker
Absent: None
B. NEW BUSINESS
Action No. 011124-1
1. Resolution approving the appointment to fill the vacancy on the board of
supervisors in the Vinton Magisterial district (Peter S. Lubeck, County Attorney)
Supervisor Radford moved to appoint Tammy E. Shepherd to serve on the Roanoke
County Board of Supervisors as the representative from the Vinton Magisterial
District; and further moved that the Board direct the County Attorney to file a Petition
for Writ of Election with the Clerk of the Circuit Court, requesting the Court to issue a
Writ of Election for a special election to be held on November 5, 2024, to elect a
member of the of the Roanoke County Board of Supervisors from the Vinton
Magisterial District to serve through December 31, 2025. Supervisor Mahaney
seconded the motion. Motion Approved.
Ayes: Supervisors Mahoney, Radford North
Nays: None
Abstain: Supervisor Hooker

the motion. Motion approved.
