Ordinance accepting and appropriating a donation from the Friends of the Roanoke County Public Library in the amount of $25,000 for use by the Roanoke County Library Department (First Reading and request for Second Reading) (Jim Blanton, Director of Library Services) Supervisor Mahoney moved to approve the first reading of this ordinance and scheduling the second reading and public hearing for February 13, 2024. Work session to review with the Board of Supervisors fiscal year 2023-2024 mid- year revenues and expenditures and fiscal year 2025 CIP Update (Laurie Gearheart, Director of Finance and Management Services; Steve Elliott, Budget Manager) K. CLOSED MEETING, pursuant to the Code of Virginia as follows: Action No. 012324-8 1. Section 2.2-3711(A)(3) of the Code of Virgina, for discussion or consideration of the acquisition of real property for a public purpose, where the discussion in an open meeting would adversely affect the bargaining position or negotiating strategy of the public body. Section 2.2-3711(A)(1) of the Code of Virgina, for discussion or consideration of the assignment of members of the Board of Supervisors to various boards and commissions. 3. Section 2.2-3711(A)(5) of the Code of Virginia, for discussion concerning a prospective business or industry or the expansion of an existing business or industry where no previous announcement has been made of the business' or industry's interest in locating or expanding its facilities in the community. Specifically, the Board will discuss potential business location or expansion in the Cave Spring, Catawba, and Windsor Hills Magisterial Districts. Supervisor North moved to go to closed session. CERTIFICATION RESOLUTION Action No. 012324-9 In the closed session just concluded, nothing was discussed except the matter which was identified in the motion to convene in closed session. Only those matters lawfully permitted to be discussed under the Virginia Freedom of Information Act were discussed.
