The Board of Supervisors of Roanoke County, Virginia,
met this day at the Roanoke County Administration Center, this
being an adjourned meeting from September 13, for the purposes of

a work session with the Planning Commission.
IN RE:
CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Eddy called the meeting to order at 12:30 p.m.
The roll call was taken.
MEMBERS PRESENT:
Chairman Lee B. Eddy, Vice Chairman Edward G.
Kohinke (Left approximately 2:45 p.m.)
Supervisors Bob L. Johnson, H. Odell "Fuzzy"
Minnix (Left approximately 2:15 p.m.)

IN RE:
WORK SESSION
The meeting was led by Carlton Abbott, landscape architect
and son of the architect who was responsible for design of the
Blue Ridge Parkway.
He presented slides of the Blue Ridge
Parkway, reviewed its history, and led a discussion among those
attending the meeting on potential ways to achieve agreement on
building development along the parkway which might be acceptable
to builders but would also be compatible with the visual beauty
of the parkway scenery.
There was no action taken at the
meeting.
At 3:30 p.m., Chairman Eddy declared the meeting adjourned
to September 19, 1994 at 12:00 p.m. for the purpose of a joint II
meeting with the Salem city Council.
