The Roanoke County Board of Supervisors of Roanoke
County, Virginia, met this day at the vinton War Memorial, Vinton,
I
Virginia, this being the third Tuesday, and an adjourned meeting
from July 14, 1992 for the purpose of a joint meeting with the Town
Council of Vinton, Virginia.
IN RE:
CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 5:03 p.m. Mayor
Charles Hill welcomed the Roanoke County Board of Supervisors to
Vinton and the Vinton Town Council roll call was taken. All
members of the Vinton-Town Council were present.
Chairman Eddy
thanked Mayor Hill and the Roanoke County Board of Supervisors roll
call was taken.

IN RE:
OPENING CEREMONIES
The invocation was given by Supervisor Harry C. Nickens. The
Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all present.
IN RE:
DISCUSSION
Supervisor Nickens reported on the quarterly meetings
held with vinton Town Manager Brad Corcoran, Mayor Hill, County
Administrator Elmer Hodge and himself. New members of the Board of
Supervisors Fuzzy Minnix and Edward Kohinke and new members of the
Vinton Town Council Joe Bush and Buford. Barton spoke of the
opportunities to work together for both localities.
Mr. Corcoran and Mr. Hodge reviewed a document prepared in
1984 outlining cooperati ve ventures at that time.
Mr. Hodge
advised he will provide information to the vinton Town Council on
the 1992 bond referendum and what improvements will be made in
Vinton and east Roanoke County.
Following discussion, it was decided that Mr. Hodge and Mr.
Corcoran and their staffs will update the 1984 Cooperative Report
and bring it back to another joint meeting for discussion.
Supervisor Johnson suggested that both locali ties should work
together to solve flood and drainage control problems.
