The Board of Supervisors of Roanoke County, Virginia,
met this day at the Roanoke County Administration Center,
Roanoke, Virginia, this being a scheduled Budget Work Session.
IN RE: CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Nickens called the meeting to order at 2:19
p.m. The roll call was taken:
MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman, Harry C. Nickens; Vice Chairman,
Athena E. Burton; Supervisors Alan H. Brittle,
Steven A. McGraw, Gary J. Minter

MEMBERS ABSENT:
None
IN RE: DISCUSSION
Assistant to the Superintendent of the Department of
Fiscal Management, Diane Hyatt, presented reports requested by
the Board on the per diem fee for housing state prisoners and
a schedule comparing the dog tag fees of Roanoke County, the
City of Roanoke, and the City of Salem.
The topic of this budget work session was the Capital
Improvements Plan goals and objectives which will be
established using the objectives of the Comprehensive Plan.

Chairman Nickens called for a recess at 4:00 p.m.

At 5:55 p.m. Supervisor McGraw moved to go into
Executive Session pursuant to the Code of Virginia, Section
2.l-344{a) (I) to consider a personnel matter. The motion
carried by a unanimous voice vote.

IN RE: ADJOURNMENT
At 6:12 p.m. Supervisor Minter moved to return to Open
Session and adjourñ, and the motion carried by a unanimous voice
vote.
