11/20/1984 - Special ~ November 20, 1984 (~ ,- ¡, tl '¡ I Roanoke County Board of Supervisors Roanoke County Administration Center 3738 Brambleton Avenue, SW Roanoke, Virginia 24015 November 20, 1984 The Roanoke County Board of Supervisors of Roanoke County, Virginia, met this day at Holiday Inn-Tanglewood, 4368 Starkey Road, Roanoke, Virginia, this being a special meeting to meet with Legislators and to present the new Legislative Packet. IN RE: CALL TO ORDER Chairman Nickens called the meeting to order at 11:52 I a.m. The roll call was taken. MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman Harry C. Nickens; Supervisors Gary J. Minter, and Alan H. Brittle MEMBERS ABSENT: Vice Chairman, Athena E. Burton; Supervisor Steven A. McGraw IN RE: PRESENTATION OF LEGISLATIVE PACKET Dr. Nickens welcomed all the legislators present, vic Thomas, Buzz Emick, Steve Agee, Chip Woodrum, Carolyn Wharton on behalf of Mr. Cranwell, and Anita Lisk of Senator McFarlane's office. The Roanoke County staff present is as follows: Paul Mahoney, County Attorney; John Peters, Engineering; John Hubbard, I Superintendent of Public Facilities; Tim Gubala, Superintendent of the Department of Development; John Chambliss, Superintendent of the Department of Fiscal Management; and Donald R. Flanders, County Administrator and Clerk to the Board. Dr. Nickens expressed that the County's main area of concern are annexation, education, highways, revenue, and erosion and sediment control. ¡---- ~ r 6) 'r':f 8: kv' , November 20, 1984 Paul Mahoney, County Attorney, presented package to th legislators. John Hubbard, Superintendent of Public Facilities I reported on Highway requests of Roanoke County. This packet includes the positions of Roanoke County, JLARC, and the Highway Department. Mr. Flanders, County Administrator, reported on various County legislative concerns. Tim Gubala, Superintendent of Development, presented the soil and erosion packets.
