7/8/1981 - Special I I I .., 7-8-81 1 , " , , " , , , Board of Supervisors Board Room--Roanoke County School Administration Building Salem, Virginia July 8, 1981 The Board of Supervisors of Roanoke County, Virginia, met this day in open session in the Board Room, Roanoke County School Administration Building, South College Avenue, Salem, Virginia, this being a special meeting of the Board on this 8th day of July, 1981. Members present: Chairman Robert E. Myers, Vice Chairman Lawrence E. Terry, and Supervisors Edward C. Park, Jr. and T. M. White. Absent: Supervisor May W. Johnson IN RE: NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING A waiver to any defects in the notice of a special meeting of the Board of Supervisors is filed with the minutes of this meeting. IN RE: CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Chairman Myers at 5:30 p.m. IN RE: COURTHOUSE EXPANSION In attendance were VVKR representatives, Jerry Conner, Ken Motley, and Steve Wright who presented to the Board the recommendation of the Court- house expansion panel for courthouse facilities needed. No action was taken by the Board. IN RE: EXECUTIVE SESSION Interim County Administrator Bruce Mayer requested an executive session to discuss a personnel matter; on motion of Supervisor Terry and a unanimous voice vote, the Board went into executive session at 6:20 p.m. IN RE: RECONVENEMENT On motion of Supervisor Terry and a unanimous voice vote, the Board reconvened in open session at 6:30 p.m. I-- ~ "... 7-8-81 2 . .. .... IN RE: BUDGET MATTER On motion of Supervisor Terry and a unanimous voice vote, a correctio was made to the 1981-82 fiscal year budget to reflect that an employee previously classified as Clerk-Steno I, Grade 20, Step B & C, be reclass- I ified as Clerk-Typist II, Grade 21, Step A & B. IN RE: PURCHASE OF CAR Administrator Mayer stated he had visited three rental car agencies to inspect cars and recommends the County purchase a 1980 Ford Fairmont in the amount of $4,799.00 to be used by the Planning and Zoning Department; on motion of Supervisor Terry and a unanimous voice vote, the Board concurred with the recommendation.
