Pursuant to adjournment of the January 2, 1978 Board meeting, the Board of I Supervisors of Roanoke COlIDty, Virginia, met this day in open session at the I Sheraton Motor Inn in Salem, Virginia. In attendance were Chairman R. Hayne COlTIPton, Vice-Chairman Robert E. Myers, Supervisors May W. Johnson, Edward C. Park, Jr., and Lawrence E. Terry, County Executive William F. Clark, County Attorney C. Dean Foster, fonner Director of Finance George F. Ferrell, auditors Daniel A. Robinson and Leonard Walton and Times-World reporter Fran Coanbs. Chairman Compton called the meeting to order at 7: 50 a. rn. and invited corrments from the COlIDty'S auditor Daniel A. Robinson. Each member of the Board was given copy of the report on turnover audit of assets dated DecEmber 31, 1977 following which the foregoing resolution was rroved and adopted: IN RE: RESOLUTION NO. 1965 DESIGNATING OFFICIAL DEPOSITORIES FOR CDUNlY FUNDS, CHANGING 'TIIE NAME OF CERTAIN ACCOUNTS A.ND AUTIIORIZING 'TIIE PAYMENT OF CERTAIN OUTSTANDING CHECKS. I WHEREAS, as the result of the resignation of the individual holding office as the Director of Finance, the responsibility for accounting and finances within the goverrment of Roanoke County is placed with a newly appointed Direc- tor of Finance; and WHEREAS, the firm of Daniel A. Robinson and Associates, Certified Public Accounts, has been employed to conduct a turn-over audit of the assets of the Roanoke County Department of Finance as of the close of business on DecEmber 30, 1977; and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors desires to take the hereinafter set out actions in order to provide for the transition of all financial obligations of the County. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of Roanoke I Cmmty that the depositories hereinafter set out be, and they are hereby authorized and directed to pay only those checks signed by George F. Ferrell, Director of Finance, as are set forth in the schedule attached hereto as Schedule A. I I 1-9-78 25':1 BE IT FUR'TIIER RESOLVED that the d.epositories hereinafter named be, and they are hereby requested to change the name of all aCC01.mts from County of I Roanoke, George F. Ferrell, Director of Finance to County of Roanoke, William F. Clark, Director of Finance, and that no checks dated after December 31, 1977 be paid unless said checks bear the signature of William F. Clark, Direc- tor of Finance. BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the depositories hereinafter named be, and they are hereby designated as official depositories for Roanoke County funds: Bank of Virginia - Southwest, Roanoke, Virginia; Colonial American National Bank, Roanoke, Virginia; Fidelity American Bank NA, Roanoke Valley, Roanoke, Virginia; First and Her chants National Bank, Richroond, Virginia (Roanoke, Virginia); First National Exchange Bank of Virginia, Roanoke, Virginia; The First Virginia Bank of Roanoke Valley, Falls Church, Virginia (Roanoke, Virginia); United Virginia Bank of Roanoke NA., Roanoke, Virginia; United Virginia Bankshares, Rich:rIDnd, Virginia. The foregoing resolution was adopted on IIDtion of Supervisor Myers and the following recorded vote: I AYES: NAYS: MYs. Johnson, :MY. Myers, MY. Park, Mr. Terry, Hr. Campton None. IN RE: EXECUTIVE SESSION At 8:00 a.m. Supervisor Park IIDved that the Board adjourn to Executive Session at the County Executive I s conference room to discuss personnel matters. The IIDtion was adopted by the following recorded vote: AYES: t1rs. Johnson, Hr. ~1yers, Mr. Park, Mr. Terry, Mr. Compton NAYS: None. At 8:32 a.m., the Board convened in executive session with the following persons in attendance: Chairman Campton, Vice Chainnan Myers, Supervisors I Park and Terry, County Executive Clark, County Attorney Foster, and Daniel A.
