HomeMy WebLinkAbout10/4/1994 - Minutes • MINUTES Industrial Development Authority of Roanoke County, Virginia October 4, 1994 Members Present: Absent: Charles Saul, Chairman Bill Branch Rick Cranwell Carson Quarles Wayne Dunman Darnall Vinyard Ron Martin Timothy Gubala, Secretary Edward Natt, Counsel Chairman Saul called the meeting to order at 8:20 a.m. in the Conference Room of the Roanoke County Administration Center, 5204 Bernard Drive. The minutes of the August 9, 1994 meeting were approved upon a motion by Rick Cranwell. Presentation of 1993-94 Audit Tim Gubala passed out the audit compiled by H. Schwarz & Company. He explained the different format used by the auditor and the findings that the Authority was in compliance with generally accepted auditing and financial procedures. Treasurer's Report Tim Gubala reported that the Authority had $3,793 . 00 in their regular account and $98.27 in the special account. Tim explained, that the changeover from a checking account to a savings account would make bookkeeping easier and allow for the accounts to accrue interest. There are no fees assessed on either of these accounts. Ed Natt said he would work with Tim to assess the bondholders for their portion of the audit fees. Executive Session At 8: 30 a.m. , upon a motion by Rick Cranwell, seconded by Ron Martin, the Authority went into Executive Session pursuant to the Code of Virginia, Section 2 .1-344 (A) 5 to discuss the location of a prospective business or industry where no previous announcement has been made by the business or industry interested in locating in the community. The motion passed unanimously. At 8:54 a.m. , upon a motion by Ron Martin, seconded by Rick Cranwell, the Authority voted to return to open session and certified by resolution attached that the Executive Session was held in conformity with the Code of Virginia. The motion passed unanimously. Ron Martin made a motion to file an application with Roanoke County to amend the proferred conditions for Valley TechPark; to reduce the buffer from 200 feet to 100 feet. Charlie Saul signed the application and Tim Gubala indicated that the Planning Commission would place it on the agenda for the November 1, 1994 meeting. Rick Cranwell seconded and the motion passed unanimously. There being no further business, the Authority adjourned at 8:57 a.m. Respectfully submitted, Timo by W. Gubala, Secretary Attachment 2
