Industrial Development Authority of Roanoke County

Bill Branch called the meeting to order at 9:15 a.m. in the conference room of the Roanoke County
Administration Building and noted that he did not have a quorum to conduct business. He asked Terry
Harrington and Linda Sims, (both from the County Planning Department)to give an overview of the grant
requests for the Williamson Road project. They reported that there were three requests approved by the
Grant Selection Committee as follows:
R. K. Morgan- landscaping improvements of$553.00
Community School - request for signage for $1,137.00
Cindy Quick/The Tack Room-request for sign of$2,414.00
Chairman Branch and Carole Brackman concurred that they would vote to approve these three grant
requests. Terry Harrington was concerned that the businesses would not be able to start work on their
projects until the Authority met and voted on these grant requests. Ed Natt suggested that Tim Gubala
prepare a report of the meeting, the grant requests, and a ballot and send it to each Authority member by
fax or mail so that they could vote on the grant requests. The Authority members could then ratify their
vote at the next Authority meeting.
There being no further business,the Authority meeting ended at 9:25 a.m.
