Saunders Situation Update
Court- Related B.Z.A. hiformation
Gentlemen:
Staff has received a letter of withdrawal front Joy Wiseman of Cornerstone Custom Homes
representing Dennis and Laurie White for the proposal to create a pipestem lot and construct
a residence behind 2515 Willowlawn Street. You will recall that the B. Z.A, had continued
this petition until its May 19, 2004 scheduled hearing. No other requests were filed within
the titneframe and no meeting will be held. All adjoining property owners have been notified
of the withdrawal of the variance petition and of'the hearing cancellation.
In regard to the Saunders double -wide issue on Simsmore Avenue, staff visited the property
on May G, 2004 and spoke with Patsy Saunders who stated that she and Mr„ Saunders intend
to have the site staked by a surveyor the week of May 10 — 14. She indicated that
repositioning of the building is planned by the end of this month.
Enclosed please review material from the Roanoke County Attorney relative to court cases
stemming from variance requests in Fairfax County, Virginia Beach and the town of Pulaski.
