Home My WebLink About1/18/2017 - Minutesfi �OAN emmt* af jq"mo& B 0""RD OF ZONING APPEALS UA BUSINESS MEETING MINUTES JANUARY 18, 2017 BZA Members Present: Mr. Richard Jones, Chairman Mr. Carlton Wright Mr. Barry Beckner Mr. Eric Thomas Staff Present: Mr. John Murphy, Secretary Mr. Peter Lubeck, Senior Assistant County Attorney Ms. Susan McCoy, Recording Secretary Guests: Elizabeth Allran CALL TO ORDER Mr. Jones called the meeting to order at 4:05 p.m. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Mr. Wright made a motion to approve the agenda. Mr. Thomas seconded the motion, which passed 4-0. Mr. Thomas made a motion to approve the November 16, 2016, minutes. Mr. Beckner seconded the emotion, which passed 4-0. ELECTION OF OFFICERS Mr. Beckner suggested that the 2016 Board of Zoning Appeals officers continue to serve as the 2017 officers. Mr. Beckner made a motion for Mr. Jones to remain Chairman and Mr. Thomas remain Vice -Chairman for 2017. Mr. Thomas seconded the motion, which passed 4-0. APPRO Mr. Wright made a motion to approve the 2017 Board of Zoning Appeals schedule. Mr. Beckner seconded the motion, which passed 4-0. APPOINTMENT OF ALTERNATES Mr. Murphy was appointed as Secretary for 2017 calendar year. Mr. Murphy recommended appointment of planning staff as alternate Board of Zoning Appeals Secretaries for 2017. Mr. Wright made a motion to approve the recommendation. Mr. Beckner seconded the motion, which passed 4-0. BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS MINUTES JANUARY 18, 2017 COMMENTS Mr. Murphy introduced Ms. Elizabeth Allran. He discussed the Board of Zoning Appeals Public Hearing procedure.
