HomeMy WebLinkAbout10/11/2022 - Minutes e ., ROANOKE COUNTY Ar PLANNING COMMISSION �Fi' SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES OCTOBER 11, 2022 Commissioners Present: Mr. Kelly McMurray, Chairman Mr. Troy Henderson, Vice-Chairman (arrived during closed session) Mr. Wayne Bower Mr. Rick James (arrived during closed session) Mr. Jim Woltz Board of Supervisors Present: Mr. Paul Mahoney, Chariman Ms. Martha Hooker Mr. Phil North Mr. Jason Peters Mr. David Radford Staff Present: Richard Caywood, County Administrator Rebecca Owens, Deputy County Administrator Doug Blount, Assistant County Administrator Peter Lubeck, County Attorney Ms. Rachel Lower, Senior Assistant County Attorney Mr. Philip Thompson, Secretary Ms. Rebecca James, Zoning Administrator Call to Order Mr. McMurray called the meeting to order at 4:07 p.m. Approval of Agenda Mr. Woltz made a motion to approve the agenda, which passed 3-0. Closed Session The Board and the Planning Commission both voted to go into closed session pursuant to Section 2.2-3711(A)(7)to consult with legal counsel regarding probable litigation, where such consultation or briefing in open meeting would adversely affect the negotiating or litigating posture of the public body. Legal counsel has a reasonable basis to believe that litigation may be commenced against the County by a known party. The motion passed 3-0. Certification of Closed Session Certification: Mr. McMurray made a motion that in the closed session just concluded, nothing was discussed except the matter or matters which were identified in the motion to convene in closed session. Only matters lawfully permitted to be discussed under the Virginia Freedom of Information Act were discussed. The motion passed 5-0.
