WORK SESSION
Mr. James called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m.
Approval of Agenda
Mr. Bower made a motion to approve the agenda, which passed 3-0.
Discussion of Roanoke County 200 Plan
Mr. Alex Jones presented the draft Community Engagement chapter of the Roanoke
County 200 Plan.
Discussion of Draft Housing Study Scope of Services
Mr. Thompson noted that the Regional Commission did a Housing Study in 2022. Mr.
Hammes presented the draft of Housing Study Scope of Services. The Planning
Commission and staff discussed housing in Roanoke County.
Citizens Comments
There were none.
Comments of Planning Commissioners and Staff
Mr. Woltz noted that he received a request from a citizen to look into potentially revising
the ordinance in regards to commercial vehicles being defined as being designed to
have more than two rear wheels.
Mr. Thompson noted the upcoming Winter 2024 Transportation Community Meetings:

• February 28th, the West Main St. at Dow Hollow Road Intersection
Improvements community meeting at Glenvar Library from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
• March 7th, the Carson Road Safety Improvements community meeting at
Bonsack Elementary School from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
• March 18th, the Peters Creek Road/Williamson Road Multimodal Safety
Improvements community meeting at the Hollins Library from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
Adjournment
Mr. James adjourned the meeting at 8:01 p.m.
