Approval of Agenda Ms. Martha Hooker moved to approve the agenda. Motion passed 4 -0. Approval of Consent Agenda Mr. Todd Ross moved to approve the agenda. Motion passed 4 -0. Route 460 West Design Guidelines: Ms. Janet Scheid stated an intern from VA Tech, Erin Ross, has been hired for the summer to begin working on the implementation of the Route 460 West Design Guidelines. Mr. Lowe noted items which have been struck through in the guidelines are items which are already included in the current Zoning Ordinance, Mr. Witt questioned the inclusion of Stormwater Management on page 7 of the guidelines. Mr. Lowe explained if particular areas are rezoned the requirements may change regarding stormwater management. Ms. Scheid suggested including language indicating that this section applies to rezonings. Update of Comprehensive Plan Revision Mr. Chris Lowe presented a progress update of the revision process. He reviewed each area of the Project Plan explaining progress made in each area. Ms. Scheid noted staff is making good progress. Mr. Witt inquired as to the reason the timeline shows the Planning Commission is involved August through September only. Ms. Scheid stated the line can be redrawn to reflect their ongoing involvement in the revision process. Submission & Review of Citizen Invitees for Planning Academy The commissioners each turned in a list of names to be considered for the class. Mr. Witt suggested inviting the Board of Supervisors. Ms. Scheid repeated Mr. Thomason's suggestion to invite some of the Planning Commissioners from neighboring localities. Ms. Hooker suggested inviting speakers from Community Meetings. Ms. Scheid stated staff has already compiled a list of speakers from the public hearings. Mr. Thomason suggested inviting Board of Zoning Appeals members. Ms. Hooker stated she thought it would be beneficial to invite some of the corporate citizens. Ms. Scheid stated some have already been included on the list. Mr. Murphy suggested inviting corporate citizens from the Williamson Road and Route 460 West area. Ms. Hooker stated inviting some of the leaders from the larger corporations may offer a different perspective. Mr. Witt stated it would also be beneficial to receive input from members of the Realtor Association., Ms. Hooker suggested inviting Melody Williams from RRHBA, Mr. Witt and Ms. Scheid discussed the invitation letter. Ms. Scheid stated the letters will be sent at the end of June. Ms. Scheid stated she plans to invite the area Civic League presidents. Mr. Murphy suggested sending invitations to the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board members. Mr. Witt stated Board of Supervisor candidates should also be invited. Ms. Scheid stated she plans to have the letter ready for review by the next meeting along with a compilation of the invitees, names. Comments of' Planning Commissioners and Planning Staff Ms., Scheid asked the commissioners if anyone needed additional business cards. She stated Mr. Azar has requested business cards. Mr. Ross inquired about the upcoming BZA cases. Mr. Beard gave a brief overview of the two petitions to be heard at the BZA Public Hearings on May 21, 2003. Mr. Witt asked if the commissioners had spoken to their prospective supervisor regarding the Sign Ordinance Revisions.
