E.Invocation:Mr. Jim Woltz
It is a long-standing tradition of the Roanoke County Planning Commission to offer a
prayer or hold a moment of silence prior to conducting public hearings. The goal of
this practice is to set the minds of all who are present to a higher purpose and to
invite all to reflect upon shared ideals and common ends.
We invite County citizens of all faiths, who desire to lead such a prayer or moment of
silence, to please contact the administrative assistantat least two weeks in advance.
When no citizen has arranged to lead the invocation, a member of the Planning
Commission, in his or her individual capacity, will do so.All who are present may
choose whether to stand or otherwise participate.
Disclaimer:
Any invocation that may be offered before the official start of the Commission
hearing shall be the voluntary offering of a private citizen. The views or beliefs
expressed by the invocation speaker have not been previously reviewed or
approved by the Commission and do not necessarily represent the religious beliefs
or views of the Commission in part or as a whole. No member of the community is
required to attend or participate in the invocation and such decision will have no
impact on their right to actively participate in the business of the Commission.
