WORK SESSION:
Ms. Hooker called the work session to order at 4:00 p.m.
Approval of Agenda
Mr. Azar made a motion to approve the agenda, which passed 5-0.
Approval of Minutes
Mr. Jarrell made a motion to approve the minutes of October 6, 2009, which passed 5-0.
Mr. Radford made a motion to approve the minutes of October 20, 2009, which passed 5-0.
Mr. Jarrell made a motion to approve the minutes November 2, 2009, which passed 3-0-2, with
Mr. Azar and Mr. Radford abstaining.
Mr. Azar made a motion to approve the minutes of November 16, 2009, which passed 3-0-2,
with Mr. McNeil and Mr. Jarrell abstaining.
Approval of Consent Agenda
Ms. Pattisall provided a brief summary and PowerPoint presentation of Green Ridge Baptist
Church special use permit request. She discussed issues regarding buffering, parking, and
future land use. Mr. Jarrell inquired about street curvature and house location. Ms. Pattisall
stated the house is located within a wide turn of the road. Mr. Radford inquired about the
current use of the house. Ms. Pattisall stated the pastor of the church currently resides in the

discussed the various methods which will b8 used iO insure citizen outreach and iOVO|Vg[U8nL

M SU[V8yS and interactive 0GpS both OD|iD8 and hard copies. �. Hooker suggested ' 18O
publishing information iO the Salem TiDlBS Register. Mr. Holladay stated a community meeting
iS tentatively scheduled for January 2O1O.

M[ ThODlpGVD stated the Roanoke [|OUOty and TDVVD of Vinton Joint Public Hearing DO the
Vinton Corridors Area Plan will be held at 7:00 p.0. OO December 7 2008 8t the Vinton War

Mr. Thompson also provided B brief update ODthe petition of Fountain Head Land Company,
LLC.(B8|lyh8Ck).
Mr. McNeil inquired about methods used k] acquire citizen input regarding all CODidDnS. Staff
and commissioners discussed various outreach methods which have been utilized.
