COOK CHIEF OF POLICE A State Accredited Agency To: Detective G. M. Chieppa Officer M. L. Byrd From: Benjamin L. Cook, Chief of Police —BL—e Re: Officer of the Month Congratulations! You have been nominated and selected as Officers of the Month for the month of July 2011. On July 20, 2011, you were on routine patrol on Hardy Road and observed two young males walking in the general area of where a burglary had occurred to a business the night before, both fit the description of possible suspects in another burglary that occurred on July 14. You made contact with these individuals and observed that they were nervous and evasive, which led you to question them further. After interviewing the subjects, it was determined that they were involved in the burglary on July 14'h, which led to a confession and the recovery of stolen property from the business. Both of you worked as a team and did an excellent job of recognizing the possibility of their criminal activity, conducting the interview, calling on resources to help recover stolen property, and placing appropriate criminal charges against the suspects. Great job and keep up the its work! ro I NMI DORN01 CC: Chris Lawrence, Town Manager Stephanie Dearing, HR Director Darfeen Bailey, Town Clerk Police Officer Brandon B.
