IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have set my hand and caused the seal of the Town of Vinton, Virginia to be affixed on this 15"' of September. 2009. Bradley E. Grose, Mayor Vinton War Memorial First Ouarter Repel "t Facility Manager Notes: 'there has been a different feel with the types of events we have hosted at the War Memorial this quarter. While we have had a larger number of events, then have been smaller, shorter events. Clients are keeping their events to specific time frames. There has been a definite increase in the number of baby / bridal showers, as well as sonic simple birthday parties. We have found that adjusting our pricing for the very simple, yet memorable events has worked to our advantage. We have had several weekends this quarter without large events, such as wedding receptions, which I think balances the equation of more events, but same revenue. Facility Maintenance Issues: I have dealt with 3 major areas of concern with the facility this quarter'. 1. I IVAC — Our I fVAC system has experienced major software failures, resulting in erneroency services being pert'Ormed by TRANE. The problem has not been completely resolved, so TRANS' is going to replace the entire control panel at limited cost to the 'l c.mri. lit the mean time they have been able to over -ride the trial Cunction and keep the facility at a comfortable temperature, 1 Terrace I)oors - Exterior The exterior of the terrace doors is very unsightly, appearing to need to be scraped and re -painted, After working with Commonwealth Door, who supplied the doors, and receiving unsatisfactory answers, I contacted Roger Falls with Avis Construction. He and I are currently working together to determine if the manufacturer or the supplier of the doors will honor the warranty, although it is expired, 3, I'lag Pole Spot Light - Water has seeped into the electrical housing of the spot lif-1111, Causing it to completely short out. The head electrician on the renovation project stopped by to determine the problem the result is that the entire electrical portion ofthe light will need to be replaced. I am currently waiting on a cost estimate on this, as well as the plan to ensure that this can not happen again, I [eel that it \vas a poor light design, although there was as gasket around the perimeter edge, Staff- I laving Lauren full time has helped tremendously with over all CUS10111Cr service and event presentation. She has put into place some important consistent procedures lor niaintainiull I __ Uj) to date details and account information. Our accounts receivables are current and aCCUratC. Danny Lugar was hired as an event attendant and has been a \ onderful addition to the team. He perf'ortris most event set -tip and has a keen eye for detail. Advertising: With each contract that is completed lor the War Memorial the client is asked, -I low did You hear about the Vinton War Memorial'. We have tracked this information and plan to locus our advertising dollars where they will bring the most return lot- our investment. Print advertisement as a whole has been drastically reduced, yet we will continue some television and web advertising that is proving to be very c11'ccti-,e. Trade shows, as well as hosting special events, have proven to draw new people to the facility on a regular basis, /Uso.
