HomeMy WebLinkAbout2025 - Printed Town CalendarVINTON 2025EAT SHOP LIVE WORK PLAY Dear Vinton Citizens, As we welcome 2025, we have so much to be grateful for looking back on the past year. 2024 was a fantastic year for the Town of Vinton, with new businesses opening, improvements to walkability, and the completion of the stunning Lady Appalachia mural on the Annex building on Pollard Street. We also saw exciting redevelopment projects move forward, breathing new life into some of our older buildings, and even more projects getting started. Our Town events were a huge success, with great turnout for the Fourth of July Celebration, Dogwood Festival, Fall Festival, and Downtown Trick or Treating. And this year, we added two fantastic new events that really made a difference. The Pink Warrior Walk raised awareness and funds for the Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation, and in November, we hosted the inaugural year of the Field of Honor at the Vinton War Memorial. The event, which honored veterans with 100 U.S. flags across the lawn, was a beautiful way to pay tribute to our service members. The funds raised from flag sales were donated to the Vinton VFW Post #4522. We’re excited to see these events grow even bigger in 2025! Looking ahead, we’re thrilled about what’s in store for Vinton this year. The Vinton War Memorial will be undergoing a major renovation in 2025 and is expected to reopen in the spring of 2026. We’re also excited about the ongoing work at Gish’s Mill, the redevelopment of West Lee and Walnut Ave, and the completion of phase 2B of the Glade Creek Greenway. These projects are just the beginning of many exciting changes happening throughout the town. It’s truly an honor to serve as your Town Council. We love Vinton, and we can’t wait to see all the new projects and plans come to life in 2025 Eat, Shop, Play, Work, & Live…. IN VINTON!
