HomeMy WebLinkAbout2026 - Printed Town Calendar2026VINTON, VA EAT SHOP LIVE WORK PLAY Dear Vinton Citizens, As we welcome 2026, we have so much to be grateful for when looking back on the past year. 2025 was a remarkable year for the Town of Vinton, from the adoption of the 2050 Comprehensive Plan, the groundbreaking of our first large hotel, the completion of the most recent phase of Glade Creek Greenway, and the addition of a park restroom at Wolf Creek Greenway. We also saw significant redevelopment projects move forward such as the completion of Cleveland Commons, breathing new life into an older building, with even more exciting initiatives getting underway throughout the Town. Our Town events were a tremendous success, with outstanding turnout for the Fourth of July Celebration, National Night Out, Dogwood Festival, Fall Festival, and Downtown Trick-or-Treating. Additionally, the second annual Field of Honor display grew from 100 to 300 flags, each representing a service member and honoring their dedication and sacrifice. Looking ahead, 2026 promises to be a milestone year for Vinton. The Vinton War Memorial Park, located at the former municipal swimming pool site, is nearing completion, and we look forward to celebrating its grand opening in early 2026. This incredible multigenerational park will offer something for all ages and serve as a true asset to our community. Renovations have also begun on the Vinton War Memorial itself, and we eagerly await its grand reopening in late 2026. We’re equally excited about the continued progress at Gish’s Mill and the development of Stone Plaza, the McCarty Building and the McClung Property at the corner of Lee and Walnut Avenue and the Dos Mas Taco Bar coming to South Pollard Street. These projects are just the beginning of many positive changes happening throughout our town. It is truly an honor to serve as your Town Council. We cannot wait to see the many new projects and plans come to life in 2026. Eat, Shop, Play, Work, & Live…. IN VINTON!
