Grants
The Vint on Police Departm ent was awarded several
grants thro u gh DCJ S in 2021. In April , VPD was
awarded $97,326 through the Body Worn C am era
(BWC) Progr am . The V PD p ur chased brand new
BWC s and in-car cameras, as well as a c loud ba sed
storage sys tem for all of the video footage. In O ctober,
VPD was awa rded $2,767 through the L ocal Law
Enforcement Block G rant. The VPD purchased 23
flashlights to replace our out dated eq uipment. In
Decem ber, VP D was awarded $25,654 through the
Coronavi ru s Emergency S uppl emental Funding. This
grant was use d to sup plement overtim e costs for
off icer who were w orki ng ove rtime i n orde r to keep
shifts fully staffed a s a resul t of the C orona virus.
In Au gus t, the department w as awarded
the DMV Selecti ve En forcement Speed
Grant in the amount of $18,672. The DM V
Selecti ve Enfor cement Speed Grant
reim bu rses the town for ov ertime pay the
officers earn fa cili tating indiv id ual pa trols
during peak hour s for speeding. The grant
also allo wed the department to pu rchase 2
new Eagle 3 RADAR Units.
The Bulletproo f Vest Partnershi p awarded t he Vin ton
P olice D epa rtmen t $2,286 to r ei mburse 50 % of the
cost of bulletp roof vests f rom 9/1/2022 - 8/31/2023.
